As pet owners, we have always been told not to feed our dogs and cats bones for fear of causing them injury. There are misconceptions about giving our pets bones. Cooked bones of any type become brittle and splinter which could potentially harm your pet if ingested. Canines and felines are designed to chew, consume and enjoy raw meaty bones. Their strong teeth and jaws break and crush bone into pieces that can be swallowed and their stomach acid then breaks down the bone so the calcium and other minerals are then absorbed.

The Benefits of Bones
Chewing on a bone is an instinctual and stimulating activity for a dog. It keeps them amused while you're absent and can stop them from chewing on things you'd rather they didn't such as furniture, remote controls, books, shoes etc. Chewing also releases endorphins which creates a feeling of overall well-being.
Regular gnawing on bones and consumption of the calcium contained in bones can prevent tartar build up, gum disease and tooth loss, and helps strengthen your pet’s own bones. If you regularly give your dog bones, it will significantly reduce the risk of periodontal disease. Bones are also a fantastic enrichment activity which satisfies your dog's inherent need to chew.

Make the bones size appropriate for your pet. We offer a variety of sizes to accommodate all dog breeds.

  •  Always feed raw bones
  • Don't leave them out for days to bake in the sun and become brittle
  • Throw them away when your dog has finished with them.
  • Cats should not be fed large beef bones, but rather Chicken necks, backs, legs, thighs and even breasts. They also enjoy whole Quail, Duck parts and Turkey necks.

Feeding Instructions:

Raw meaty bones should be thawed in the refrigerator before feeding. Frozen bones are not recommended to give to your pets. Be sure your pet has ample time to enjoy the bone and the longer they have to chew on the bone, increases the benefit of the activity. We recommend feeding bones and chews before their dinner as they will spend more time gnawing and breaking down the bone to get to the good stuff. Once they have finished their bone, discard the remains if feeding large Beef rib bones or marrow bones. Beef Trachea, both dried and raw, is wholly digestible and they will not have any leftovers. Allow an hour or two to pass before feeding them their dinner as the entire process of chewing on the bone produces necessary stomach acid to break down the bone. We like to be sure they go to bed with a full belly to ensure a restful night’s sleep.
